Tibetan medicine is one of the world's oldest known holistic healing traditions. The first recorded use of Tibetan medicine can be traced back to the 7th century CE during the reign of the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo.  Earlier traces in the Bon tradition go back to the 4th century. The first recorded Tibetan Medical Conference was in the 8th century. Physicians from China, India, and Persia traveled to Tibet to attend

The premier medical college for Tibetan medicine is Men-Tsee-Khang (H.H. The Dalai Lama’s Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute). It was re-established in India by His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama, in 1961.

Jampha is blessed to work with one of the very few masters trained in multiple botanical disciplines from many generous masters in their fields, this includes Men-Tsee-Khang and training with the Venerable Tibetan doctors Amala Lobsang Dolma, Tenzin Choedrak among many others. Amchi Thubten Lekshe has been offering and formulating advanced expressions of traditional Tibetan Medicine since 1977.

Sowa Rigpa is the Tibetan name for the art and science of Tibetan Medicine. Amchi Thubten Lekshe has been a Sowa Rigpa tradition lineage holder for more than 50 years.

He founded the Tibetan Pharmacy and TibetanDoctors.com in 1976 to support Tibetan physicians and provide accurate traditional and historic information about the art and science of Tibetan medicine. At Jampha, we share this information so people can learn functional aspects and holistic daily applications of the ancient wisdom offered through the Tibetan holistic Sowa Rigpa tradition.

The Tibetan Pharmacy and Mens Tsee Khang accurately represent the Sowa Rigpa tradition's ancient wisdom. They preserve the lineage and potency of Tibetan botanical medicine formulations.

Tibetan Pharmacy brings to Jampha's expression of Loving Kindness the treasuries of wisdom and knowledge attained through unbroken lineages of applied insight into the science of healing mind, body and spirit in harmony with the Holy Dharma and in partnership with the spiritual, botanical and mineral kingdoms.
WARNING: Please be aware that several companies are using our descriptive information to sell their Tibetan like capsules and tonics and those products may NOT actually represent Tibetan medicine's true formulations and functions.
